Every year WPPS invites scholarship applications from boys entering Grade 4. Applications typically open in the third term. These scholarships are made possible through funds raised from the WPPS Scholarship Fund.
Each year WPPS covers the tuition and boarding of 8 boys. Two scholarships for each grade from 4 to 7. This is the reason for us advertising for new scholarship candidates at the Grade 4 level. We receive a significant number of applications from various sources, as well as through partnerships with certain organisations.

2026 marked the 38th year of the WPPS bursary/scholarship in its various forms. The programme has taken on different names and structures. Established in 1988, the WPPS Scholarship Programme set out to offer talented athletes an opportunity to showcase and hone their talent while at the school. Our more recent approach targets enhancing academic, sporting, and cultural skills with transformation in mind. It focuses our attention on all areas of the participant’s life. In addition, a process is created to assist our boys with their social, emotional, and personal development. Through this process, we wish to create opportunities for boys with the potential to excel on the playing field and to develop well-rounded individuals who will become significant leaders and contributors to society. To date, 77 young men have been immersed in WPPS through this programme, before moving on to high school.
Our scholarship programme, while small, makes a tremendous difference in the lives of those boys who pass through it. But, most importantly, their time and experiences at WPPS add richness and value to the lives of all with whom they interact.
