This portfolio aims to empower parents by building a resource base online that is focused on good and positive parenting. It also provides an opportunity for parents and staff to share their experiences and information in this area so that others may benefit.

An elderly man spent several hours rummaging through journals that he and other family members had written many years ago. As he opened one of his journals, the old man’s eyes fell upon an inscription that stood out because it was so brief in comparison to other days. In his own neat handwriting were these words:
“Wasted the whole day fishing with Jimmy. Didn’t catch a thing.”

With a deep sigh and a shaking hand, he took his son Jimmy’s journal of the same year and found the boy’s entry for the same day, June 4. Large scrawling letters, pressed deeply into the paper, read: “Went fishing with my Dad. Best day of my life.”
This story serves as the introduction to a book entitled “To a Child, Love is Spelled T-I-M-E” written by Lance Wubbels.
